Greater Houston Community Foundation uses DonorSphere, a secure, easy-to-use portal that keeps your fund information within reach anytime, anywhere. In just a few clicks, you can review fund details, track your giving, and recommend grants to support meaningful impact.

Access DonorSphere or Update Profile Information

How do I access or login to DonorSphere?

Go to Greater Houston Community Foundation’s website and click “Login” in the top right corner or visit https://ghcf.donorsphere.org/login.

What is my username?

Your username is the email address that receives communications from [email protected]. If you need additional support, click “Forgot Username or Password” on the login page.

How do I log in for the first time?

Click “Reset Password” to receive an automated email with a link to create your password. Check your junk or spam folder if you do not see the email. You will also be prompted to set up a security question.

How do I update my contact information?

To update your contact information, please contact our Donor Services team at [email protected] or 713.333.2210. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

How do I update my charitable interests?

Select the menu icon in the top right corner, then click “User Profile.” Select “Charitable Interests” to update your profile. By updating these preferences, the Community Foundation can better connect you to philanthropic resources that matter most to you.

Where can I find my recent fund activity?

Use “Latest Activity” on the Home page to view your contributions and grants.

Where can I find my contributions, acknowledgments, statements, and grant reports?

Select the “Activity” icon in the top toolbar to access these reports:

  • Fund Summary: View an overview of contributions, grants, transfers, fees, and other activity. You can filter the summary by date range.
  • Statements: View and download archived quarterly statements.
  • Contribution History: View history and activity for all gifts made to the fund as well as acknowledgment letters.
  • Grant Activity: View all grant activity and sort by status, including “In Progress,” “Posted,” or “Rejected.”
  • Grant History: View grant history and filter by date range.
  • Scheduled Grants: View active recurring grants or future grants for your fund.

How do I access more than one fund?

For fundholders with more than one fund with the Community Foundation, please use the dropdown in the upper right corner to toggle between each of your funds.

How do I make a grant?

Select the “Grant” icon in the top toolbar. Follow the prompts to choose a grantee, enter grantee information, add the grant amount and purpose, and include any other details, such as recognition of preferences or grant timing.

How can I view my contributions?

There are two ways to view or generate a report of your contribution history:

  • Select the “Activity” icon in the top toolbar, then select “Contribution History.”
  • Select the “Options” dropdown in the top right corner, click “User Profile,” then select “My Contributions.”

How do I view grant details or recommend another grant?

Under “Latest Activity,” on the Home page, select “Grants,” then click “View All Grants.”

After you find the specific transaction, select “Click here to view grant details” to see more information or to recommend another grant to the same organization.

Safeguard Your DonorSphere Access

Your DonorSphere username and password provide access to your account, including grantmaking, fund history, and contact information. Strengthening your login security reduces the risk of unauthorized grant recommendations and other account misuse.

    • Use a unique password for DonorSphere (not reused on other websites).
    • Keep your credentials private and avoid sharing logins.
    • Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) whenever possible.
    • If you do not use MFA, update your password regularly.
    • Consider using a trusted password manager.

Why does MFA matter?

When MFA is enabled, your account is protected by an additional verification step, beyond your password. In that case, using a strong, complex password is typically more effective than changing your password frequently. Follow these simple steps to turn on MFA:

  • Log in to DonorSphere and click the “Options” dropdown in the top right corner.
  • Click “User Profile” then “Security.”Please ensure that the phone number(s) listed under “User Profile” are current and can receive calls or text messages.

If you do not have a phone number listed or need to make updates, please reach out to your Philanthropic Advisor or our Donor Services Team. 

Please note: The Community Foundation cannot take responsibility for grants made using shared or compromised login information.

Confirm details before sending funds or recommending a grant

Please take a moment to verify instructions before initiating a transfer or making a grant. A quick check can go a long way. We encourage you to confirm details with a known contact, such as your Philanthropic Advisor or a member of our Donor Services Team (713-333-2210 | [email protected]).

A reminder for your protection: The Community Foundation will never update or request changes to wiring transfer instructions via email. If you receive a request that appears to do so, please verify it by calling us using a trusted phone number. While we do work to protect your fund, the Community Foundation cannot be responsible for assets sent to an incorrect account.

Be cautious with third-party websites and tools.

The Community Foundation does not currently partner with third party platforms that offer embedded donation or grantmaking widgets. While these tools may appear on other websites and sometimes reference our name or logo, they are not managed or controlled by us.

Please note that no system is completely immune to misuse or fraud. While we take security seriously and work to protect our official platforms, we cannot guarantee against all unauthorized activity. For your safety, only log in through our official channels and never share your DonorSphere credentials with external websites or unfamiliar tools.
