2024 Year-End Giving Deadlines
As we approach the final months of 2024, please review our giving guidelines to meet the IRS deadlines for the inclusion of your gifts in the 2024 tax year. Whether you’re starting your philanthropic journey or a seasoned philanthropist, we are honored to be your philanthropic partner in making a difference—both in Houston and beyond.
Stock & Other Securities
When you give securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds), you may be eligible for a double tax benefit: 1) you can deduct the full fair market value of the assets from your income taxes, and 2) you may avoid capital gains tax on any appreciation or increase in value. It’s a simple yet effective way to achieve your philanthropic goals.
Greater Houston Community Foundation does not provide tax advice or services. Please consult your personal advisor with questions regarding your tax planning.
