GHCF Awards More Than $100 Million in Grants in 2013
On behalf of its donors, the Greater Houston Community Foundation is pleased to formally announce that it awarded more than $100 million in grants in the 2013 calendar year. A total of $107,863,622, distributed through 7,784 grants, helped to impact thousands of nonprofit organizations, including 975 organizations in the Greater Houston region. The $100 million giving mark positions the Foundation as one of the leading grant makers in Houston.
“This landmark sets a new level of giving for the Foundation,” says Stephen Maislin, Greater Houston Community Foundation CEO. “Because of our donors’ generosity, we are creating a significant and positive impact on our community and on the many organizations that provide much-needed services.”
The Greater Houston Community Foundation, comprised of many of Houston’s most active and concerned philanthropists, issued grants totaling nearly 25% of its corpus. The Foundation impacts not only the nonprofit community in Houston but also communities throughout the state of Texas.
“The Greater Houston Community Foundation is proud of the $100 million milestone and honored by the trust our donors, advisors, and clients have expressed through their philanthropic actions,” says Maislin. “We are humbled by the success of 2013, and we look forward to continuing to increase our philanthropic impact in our community.”
