Greater Houston Community Foundation Appoints Kevin Pickett as Chief Advancement Officer
HOUSTON, TX (October 3, 2023) – Greater Houston Community Foundation (Foundation) will welcome Kevin Pickett as Chief Advancement Officer in early October. Pickett, with an extensive background in philanthropy, fundraising, and community development, will bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the Foundation. He will join the Foundation leadership team to expand the Community Foundation’s donor base and reach within the Greater Houston region and beyond.
As Chief Advancement Officer, Kevin will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, overseeing fundraising efforts, and enhancing community engagement. He brings a 25-year history in gift planning, coupled with a proven track record of leadership in the field of development. His expertise extends far beyond traditional philanthropic strategies, encompassing a wide range of institutional fields.
Pickett will be charged with cultivating and engaging the community Foundation’s donor base, building and strengthening relationships across the greater Houston region, leading strategic planning, and driving business development across the board. Through these activities, the Foundation will be able to better convene and catalyze lasting positive change for Houston with its donors.

Pickett has held pivotal roles at prominent organizations, including Chief Development Officer of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Executive Vice President at Moffitt Cancer Center, Executive Director of Development at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Kentucky Christian University. Additionally, he served as the Director of Estate and Asset Services for the American Cancer Society. More recently, Kevin held the role of Principal Consultant at The Gobel Group.
As a nationally recognized expert and speaker in areas such as gift planning, digital fundraising, and development marketing, Pickett has published numerous articles and served as a faculty member at the Rice University Center for Philanthropy and Leadership.
