Supporting Maui Fire Victims
We are all too familiar with the magnitude of need in times of disaster. Our hearts and thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating fires in Maui, Hawaii. Greater Houston Community Foundation has curated a list of nonprofit organizations leading relief and recovery efforts. These resources will offer the support needed in the coming days, months, and years to help those impacted.
Maui Strong Fund: Created by the Hawaii Community Foundation to provide resources for disaster preparedness, response and recovery, the Maui Strong Fund is currently being used to help aid communities affected by the Maui Wildfires. Donate online at hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong, or send a check to Hawaii Community Foundation, 827 Fort Street Mall, Honolulu, HI, 96813. Make checks payable “Hawaii Community Foundation”.
Maui United Way: Maui United Way has set up a Maui Fire Relief Fund that will go directly to support Maui fire victims. Donate here.
Maui Mutual Aid Fund: The Maui Mutual Aid Fund is run by volunteers looking to get funds and support to vulnerable residents, such as elderly, those with physical disabilities, and renters and individuals without insurance. Donations can be sent to bit.ly/mauimutualaide.
Maui Humane Society: Donations can be made via their website at mauihumanesociety.org.
The Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is accepting donations for Maui efforts at hawaii.salvationarmy.org.
Maui Food Bank: The Maui Food Bank is accepting online monetary donations at mauifoodbank.org/donate.
Hawaii Red Cross: The Hawaii Red Cross is providing assistance and shelter to Maui fire victims. Donations can be made here: https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html/
